Texaco/Havoline – shoot

Posted on

I’ve been working as a freelance photographer for the great people of LVT PR regularly for the last few years.  Recently, they asked me to shoot a campaign for Texaco/Havoline.

The setting was great: a real Mustang garage where they sold nothing but Mustangs. The owner was a retired rally pilot and runs the shop as wall as the workplace where they maintain and repair cars.  As a hobby, he keeps half a gazillion toy cars on display … (he must definitely hold the world record for biggest selection of matchbox cars)!

The shooting involved photographing a few products in the showroom and a few shots in the garage of mechanics working on the cars.

I had to light the showroom with the “big guns”, my trusted Elinchrom 600 RX strobes, but could to with the small SB900 strobes to light the mechanic.

Nevertheless, we had great fun doing the shoot, and I was helped a lot by Luc from LVT PR in order to create great artwork for the ads and PR (something LVT PR excels at …).

Herewith a few impressions …
